Launching Scribe, a clean editor for Micro.blog: mb.amitgawande.com
@pimoore Thank you, Pete! The editor was one issue I was ignoring for quite some time. I recently realised that Micro.blog continues to work best for me overall. So I had to overcome this one drawback on my own for now.
@amit This looks nice. Will we have options on where to cross-post or categories to add after we hit Publish or does it straight go to your blog?
@pratik Yes. A quick addition is to support multiple categories – currently you can add one. Preferably as selection.
Of course, you can also select “Save as draft” during posting and it will create a draft post and will redirect you to the draft on Micro.blog.
@amit Worked well in my quick testing. My feature request: show the current blog hostname on the publish screen for people with multiple blogs so there won’t be any surprises. You can grab that from micropub?q=config.
@ericmwalk Nice! Thank you. I am glad you could test and are liking it. I myself have enjoyed it for the last couple of days :)
@manton Great! And thank you for the feature request. I wanted to use /micropub?q=config
eventually for media endpoint. Great that I can fetch blog hostname from here. Is there any place where we document this?
@amit It’s mentioned briefly on this help page near the bottom. More docs would be good. It’s part of an extension to the Micropub spec so a little scattered in terms of examples.
@amit Congrats! 🙌 It’s such a nice experience to use, especially for longer form writing. And of course I love that it’s web-first.
I’m having trouble publishing but it was great that I was able to easily save the post locally. Are you open to folks reporting bugs?
@SimonWoods Great, thank you Simon. I am so glad you liked the experience. Export as markdown was one option I always wanted to provide. Good that it came handy.
I would love to look at the issue you face – do send the report. I will check and resolve.
And of course, the code is open too. Although, I haven’t cleaned it up a lot. So you can log the issues there too. @manton
@amit I tried out Scribe and it worked great, first try!! I will keep using it going forward, as it looks powerful, but easy to use. Thanks for your help!
@Ron So glad it worked as expected in the first run Ron. Even I plan to use the interface for posting to my blog going ahead. I like it simple too 🙂
