@garciabuxton This resonated with me. I like Wordpress! I think it’s a powerful, flexible, rather user-friendly piece of tech.
Full Disclosure: I haven’t installed the Gutenberg editor yet.

@cheri The slightly inadequate, unhip feeling I get when I read about Blot reminds of the days when I was on Blogger and reading about Wordpress. :)
I need to learn more about Gutenberg. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with it when you take the plunge.
@garciabuxton Thank you for sharing this. I have been sort of thinking about this too, lately. Might “blog” about it.
@garciabuxton For me it never wanted to end but about a month ago I decided to put a stake through the heart of the tinkering. I switched from hosting my own WP site to hosting via Micro.blog with a commitment to myself to “live with” what Micro.blog gave me. There are aspects that really irritate but at the end of the day it’s about posting and WordPress didn’t help me do more of that.
@garciabuxton I think it's wise to avoid the trap of not using something you're happy (or at least comfortable) with just because other people don't personally like it. I try them all, and none of them satisfy every whim I might have, but they are all pretty good. Even WordPress :).
It's popular to complain about WordPress being "bloated", probably because it is. It's also capable of doing just about anything you could want, pretty easily. I've adapted to Gutenberg. It's not my favorite thing in the world, but it works fine for me. It makes doing "fancy" things easy. Keep it fun!
@mdhughes @garciabuxton I’m not interested in replacing my WP blog but I do love blogs. I’m up to three now. 😳 One of each!
@garciabuxton This is a great post! If you're happy, I'm happy. If it works for you, then it works... which is awesome.
@paulcraig901 Thanks, Paul. I'm still intrigued by Blot and what bloggers like you are doing with it!
@ronguest I get it. So far, after a bit more tinkering, I think I've finally settled into a certain comfort level wiith WP. I agree that it's all about the posting! Hoping that the comfort level I've reached allows me to do that more easily.
@garciabuxton Yup. My main blog/site is WP. I have microblog as social media. And a blot blog on the side. They each have their own purpose.
@cheri @garciabuxton Hmmm... you’ve got me thinking about this. I despise WP and Gutenberg for blogging. But... those could be useful for other projects/ideas.
