Hoisted by my own petard. I wrote that post in MarsEdit, like a civilized person, and then PASTED it into Blogger’s web interface, LIKE AN ANIMAL. I really need to move that blog to a service that works with MarsEdit ;)

@danielpunkass that does seem a little shocking that you would still have a blog that MarsEdit doesn’t interface with 😱😁
@danielpunkass have you heard the good word about a little obscure platform called WordPress? Some people seem to like it.
(I know the pain, though: two of my blogs are on WP, but I still have a legacy one on Drupal; one day I’ll get around to migrating it.)
@danielpunkass Slightly off-the-wall question, but one you’d have an informed opinion on: if I were possessed to write a blogging system of some kind with a posting API that MarsEdit could talk to, what would be the best API to use between the ones MarsEdit supports?
@chipotle Believe it or not this 15 year old (!) post is still relatively on the mark as far as this goes: redsweater.com/blog/292/… Unfortunately there hasn’t been a no-brainer, modern open standard to arise and really take hold. One of these days I’ll add support for the newer WordPress REST API and MicroPub, which each might be good contenders for emulation, too.
@danielpunkass Ok, thanks! I was kind of figuring it would be either MetaWeblog or Micropub. I thought MarsEdit actually supported Micropub in order to support Micro.blog, but I’m probably making assumptions based on “micro” being in both. :)
@hjertnes @danielpunkass , I just want Mars Edit for iOS/iPadOS 🫣🙏🏽
