@pimoore had an olivetti portable one growing up (there is a huge version my mom used to type legal documents) - learned to type (with no formal training - so the right fingers do not fall on the specific keys haha, but I can touch type at decent a speed) by creating quite a number of papers in highschool. Pure mechanical, no electric ones for me.
@pimoore No autocorrect, just White-Out. Looks gorgeous and now I am on eBay looking for a typewriter.
@pimoore This video , he says something about , when using a type writer, Capture your toughts… you’ll see what it intails if you watch the video. This is something, I want to be more intentional about when writing, capture, my, thoughts.
@pimoore I love the sounds & tactile experience! The hollow pop of the bale hitting a fresh sheet of paper, the shk-shk-shk of the keystrokes, the bing-zicckkk of the end of line and return, the schniffff of a finished page coming out off the platen! (This may have turned into a small paean to Don Martin!)
@pimoore My pilot metropolitans were fine starter pens, but their cartridges are a bit fiddly with bottled ink, so I’m looking forward to buying a TWSBI Diamond when I get back home to the States. What’s your go-to pen these days?
@Cheri I’ve had both, and the Eco is like half the price. The Diamond has a larger ink capacity and looks a little bit nicer, other than that I haven’t noticed any differences between them.
