@Gaby I just finished that same book a few weeks ago! I thought it was good, with a fresh angle. After reading many Jack Reacher books, this seemed like a nice series in the same vein.
Likewise, I could use less of the repetition. I think that’s a symptom of book series like these—they need that repetition in case a clueless reader starts on the third book instead of the first.
Sure does make certain bits a slog to get through for people who started with the first, though. I wonder what fancy vodka he’ll be drinking in the fourth entry. Or how him and Mia are going to keep dancing around each other. 🙄
@dandycat if you like these kind of books, i highly recommend Jack Carr’s books The Terminal List which is getting an amazon prime tv series starring Chris Pratt.
@Gaby The repetition has become a publishing necessity. It gives readers jumping into the middle of the series the information they need. Publishers always want each book in a series to stand on its own. For faithful readers, it’s painful.
@Gaby Hurwitz has to resolve the Mia subplot soon. No matter how he does it, it’s going to be problematic.
