@Gaby About 30+ years ago I was hanging out with someone in AA so I decided to not drink alcohol for a bit. It stuck with me and I never took it up again. Went off the taste. Found folks who are drinking (eg at parties or dinners) just get extremely boring and tedious. Works well for me. 😀

@Gaby I’m sure there will be occasions where it will be socially, or mentally harder to stick with it, but you have all to gain. Think about alternatives in advance. I used to drink, not often, but usually too much. Now I don’t miss it at all.

@Miraz @gaby I’ve never liked the taste of beer, I mostly don’t like the taste of alcohol. Last week I bought a bottle of Bailey’s and that was the alcohol in … 2/3/4 years? I can’t remember. But if we start discussing candy, snacks or bread then I’m in deep trouble

@Gaby You got this. I have been Sober 3 years. I highly recommend you start a 30 day journal about this experience. 30 days is an excellent experiment because you will go through a lot of different senarios in which you would normally drink alcohol but do not. Journaling will help you in the moment and in the post 30 days to see how you feel about alcohol. I think at the end of the day the point of not drinking is “not drinking” but to build a life that you do not want or need it. Wishing you the best. I am here to help.
