@Gaby There are no rules. You don’t take a photograph but you make one. You don’t see the world in black & white so you have to imagine how it will look that way. Ansel Adam’s is a great example. It’s fine to process later, shoot in BW, or use filters. There’s no cheating.
@Gaby I’m totally with @pratik on this. It’s impossible to cheat when making art.
All art, in my experience — but photography in particular — is about working within constraints. The limits of a lens, focal length, etc. Working without hues is another form of constraint.
@mangochutney Funny thing, I was just playing around with my camera setting’s and it turns out, it does have a monotone/monochrome option, it’s just that’s deep in the settings. I am going to play with this
