@Gaby Gabz - Thanks for posting this. I think this is a struggle for most of us. I think desiging the “system” - meaning a work flow etc - is fun to think about - but not very fun to do. At least as not as much fun as hitting “post” or publish.
I try to make myself - clean up my work area - am I going to tag this or save it etc? BEFORE I hit post - cause for me - once I click post - I am done with it.
I also think - that some bloggers do not make it that complicated either.
Cal Newport recently talked about how he does it. He puts anything of interest in evernote. Then when he wants to blog - which he does on Friday - he looks for something of interest and just cranks it out.
@terrygrier My thanks to you for reading. I think not having a full one system - for me - aliviates friction, I just want to open the app, dump my mind, maybe do some quick edits and publish. Once it is published I could care less about the “Draft”. Or so I think.
@pimoore Simple is good, I guess we all approach this things differently, to me is more about eliminating friction. The moment I try to organize things and add tags and whatnot, is time I could spend writing about better nonsense lol
@leonp This is one of the main reasons why I enjoy Micro.blog so much is because it is all about publishing. When I had my blog at WordPress I always had this “friction” about if what I was posting was too short, or it needed to have a title, and so on. And when it comes to organization, sometimes I want to go back to the “Drafts way”, not keep anything and just delete after publishing and I as well do lots of editing after publishing and that always happens in Micro.blog’s website or iOS app
@Gaby Excellent insight as I jump back in here. WP for me was the same. I fiddled more than posting. MB - I post. I use Byword a lot - mostly on iOS. And it has several shortcuts that are easy to use. Granted it makes a “file” vs an entry - but in some ways I am ok with this …
