@peterimoore it’s not the new flash. There are good electron apps and there are shit native apps.
A lot of native apps like for example micro blog are also mostly just html.
In most cases it’s important to ask yourself if you’d prefer the electron app or no app.
@peterimoore The experience won’t be exactly like a native app, nor should it. But the experience can be as good.
Most of the time when something is a electron app instead of something native, the native app wasn’t really an option.
Unrelated, but kind of relevant. I have a bunch times over the last 10 years tried to get into native app development. But the tools Apple have are so much worse than what I am used to from my day job of doing web development that I just get annoyed and decide to not touch it.
@peterimoore size and quality isn’t really a thing that go hand in hand.
I personally don’t touch electron development myself partly because Google is evil and electron in based on chrome. And partly because I think a web app should be a in a browser or that the user should use one of the “make an app from a url” utilities themselves
