Speaking of Amazon, Peak Design just released an amazing video where they pretty much roast Amazon and their predatory Amazon Basics brand. It’s still tough to quit Amazon, but I do love supporting Peak Design and companies like them. I can’t wait to receive my Mobile set!

@wearsmanyhats I was this close to closing my account down late last year. I downloaded all my Kindle books and converted them to epub and then uploaded them to Apple Books. I made a list of all the companies I purchased most of my stuff online from and started buying from them directly. I started using Libby last year and read books from the Libby app instead of the Kindle one. I just couldn’t find a replacement for Comixology (still the best digital comic store out there, imo), and I couldn’t escape the fact that Amazon is really good at shipping my stuff reliably. I want to quit Amazon but I’m not quite there yet. My Prime subscription ends in November, and I don’t think I’m going to resubscribe. I’ll keep trying to wean myself off them in the meantime. How are you coping without your Amazon account? How’d you do it?!

@odd Calibre on my Mac but I had to do A LOT of searching and troubleshooting to get it to work. I had to download an older version of Calibre, an older version of the Kindle app on the Mac, some decrypting plugins, etc. In the end it was worth it but oh man the hives I’m getting just thinking about it now

@mariovillalobos Ok, thanks! Maybe I’ll postpone it a bit.
