I started my blog on micro.blog, got into it so thought I should get a more professional Wordpress blog, that made me fall out of love with it so moved back to Micro.blog which got me back into blogging now I think I should have a more professional / configurable site again … 🙄
@andynicolaides when I had my blog on Wordpress that was kinda of my issue, I felt like I needed to be professional about it. And I was barely blogging. Mb blog is the perfect blend for me. You treated very professional (whatever proffetional really means) or more loose (for lack of a better term). Moving to Mb gave me that love for blogging again for sure.
@Gabz yeah I think you’re right the environment definitely makes me feel more comfortable just putting stuff out there... I just wish I could get a theme I can like / features what I need.
@andynicolaides that’s definitely a compromise. I think that’s also what makes Mb simpler and easy to use, the fact that the themes are very simple and maybe not a whole lot of features. But the way a treat and go about my blogging I don’t necessarily need all those. But I see your point. I just need somewhere where I can post whatever it’s in my head and whenever without too much resistance and hoops to go through.
@Gabz I decided to stay on MB too. After we talked I stayed on MB. I decided I like posting video sometimes and MB makes that easy now.
@jsonbecker yeah, you’re right, I should stop being lazy and try to actually try and help myself on this one. Thanks I’ll have a dig around and see what I can do :)
@andynicolaides You can get really far with custom themes although they sometimes feel a little hacked together. You can take a look at my theme on Github.
@andynicolaides Which isn't an unreasonable request. You should be able to get something to your liking that doesn't require very much coding. It's taken me months to get my site to where I want it to be, but one of the things that I recognised is that I enjoy the process...others might not, or might not want to learn or spend the time necessary.
