Every so often I have the nagging suspicion that I should have just gotten Apple’s own keyboard for the iPad, as expensive as it is.

@chipotle that’s what I did - the Smart Keyboard. Couldn’t have asked for better integration. It’s always there with it as a cover. I have the Apple keyboard too, but it languishes in the corner somewhere.
@chipotle it has it’s own set of limitations, like the less than stable typing experience in the lap, the limited viewing angles, and the overall feel of the material. However, I love the keyboard feel, the constant availability, and the fact that I don’t have to faff with bluetooth and batteries.
@chipotle Yeah, I use mine everyday. I acutally find that its a very nice typing experience and very stable in my lap! Bonus, can be used in different configs if you want to use with other keyboards. I've written about that here: beardyguycreative.com/blog/2019...
@Denny Some of the setups you show with the Zagg are pretty close to ones I'm doing with the Magic Keyboard. (Although for now I just have Apple's non-keyboard cover—which is actually pretty good for what it is.)
@mangochutney those are advantages, certainly. The Magic Keyboard goes an absurdly long time between charges, but it takes a few seconds to get the iPad to go "oh, yeah, Bluetooth." (The Brydge connects instantly, although that doesn't make up for my other complaints about it.)
@nitinkhanna I love the Magic Keyboard enough that it's been the main reason I haven't gotten the Smart Keyboard yet. (Well, that and "this is a great keyboard I already have that won't be another $200," I admit…)
@chipotle Oh, that’s not the Zagg. It’s Apple’s Smart Keyboard Portfolio used in conjunction with a Logitech keyboard. I’m just using the folio in different ways for different angles.
@chipotle Before I caved and bought the Smart Keyboard Folio, I have been using the old Incase Origami Case and the older Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. It worked well enough and was more stable than the folio it it was less easy to lug around and not usable in the lap. I might give the Bridge a look once they add a touch pad to it.
