@Denny what kind of tags are you adding that requires the use of EXIF for batch adding?

@mindofaaronw Mostly it's captions and keywords. Apple's machine learning has gotten pretty good at identifying photos with people, flowers, etc so search works for most of that. But, there are some things it still gets wrong. I take lots of photos of fungi, lichen, and moss and it fails at most of those. Also, sometimes I want a keyword for somethig like wildlife where I could search for a mix of things. And then there might be photos that just need more than a simple name but would be better with a full description. It's great to be able to select 30 images and add a keyword or caption to all of the at once.

Interestingly, Photos on the iPad actually sees keywords for the purposes of searching, it just does not display them in the "Info" window of the app.

@Denny Very interesting. I had no idea you could even search by the caption! Could definitely come in handy for specific family events or flora/fauna like you mentioned.

@mindofaaronw Yep! I find it helpful on occasion. And when it comes to setting captions on natural subjects I take it as an opportunity to try to learn the name and maybe another thing or two.
