The Attorney General of Missouri is using his office to go after people critical of him. If this doesn’t terrify you, it should. What’s next for fascist Schmitt, pushing rivals out of windows?

@shep Yeah, it does. It seems to me that the U.S. is headed for increasingly dark times and an ongoing crisis. I've long thought that we in the U.S. have been too passive as citizens. That we don't take the responsibility of citizenship seriously enough. A quote from Utah Phillips: "Freedom is something you assume, then you wait for somebody to try to take it away from you. The degree to which you resist is the degree to which you are free." The struggle for the 8 hour day, civil rights, women's suffrage... were all hard earned and fought for. This new "movement" of the past few years is coming from the opposite side of things. Fascism is a frightening thing. I'm wondering if we're up to the challenge, the struggle to defend the liberties we've been taking for granted.

Democracy is off the rails because over time we let ourselves be bought-off. Comfort and consumerism became more important than rocking the boat. Well, that and because of some important fundamental flaws in the design. But, in any case, trouble.

@Denny 100% agree. It really is concerning how little people know or care what's going on.
