I loathe when people are like “you are too focused on salary”. No, I’m really not. I quite literally want enough that will allow me to own a home before I retire without moving cities. And enough to support one child should I choose. That’s all I want.
@Claudia it should not be that difficult to understand. If they need my working abilities, I need to make a living.
@eumrz I think it's cause my pay is nothing to sneeze at (totally acknowledge my privilege here) BUT I also live in one of the most unaffordable property markets in the world so even that isn't enough for a single income mortgage for a 3 bedroom place near a train line. I'm so close tho!
@Claudia never be ashamed of saying I want to make a living and I want it to be a good one too. It's hard work and it has to be valuable for others to pay for it, but it should give you pride.
@Claudia The pursuit of money becomes a problem if you start treating people like things or lessers, it degrades important relationships, or impacts your mental health. I don't care for power. I care to feel good about doing my job and not working for bastards while earning enough to own a home.
