My 1password subscription is going up next month so I’m going to switch. It’s given me a reason to switch now rather than someday.

@ChrisJWilson same thought been runing through my head - but family plan - and other half is saying “but I’ve just got used to 1 Password = yo cnt chnage me again.”
@ChrisJWilson About two years back, we dropped 1Password after probably 15-20 years. We switched to just Apple Passwords and it’s worked great.
@ChrisJWilson I got the family on 1Password and then I switched to Bitwarden. I let the family keep using 1Password.
@JohnPhilpin Fortunately(?) for me my wife tried 1password years ago and then LOST her 1password (which wasn’t an issue in Apple Passwords). If you thought corporate change management was hard, try family change management!
@philbowell I’m planing on Apple Passwords at least as a stop gap. I’ve been using it alongside for a while (which had some papercuts but was to help prep for if this happened!) I’ve considered a few options but got paralysed by choice. I was looking at proton with one of their bundles and might consider again but for now, this will do.
@KyleEssary I’ve used Apple Passwords alongside and had some issues with my browser Arc so I think I’ll probably go back to safari now. Other than that, I’m not anticipating too many issues — good to hear it was an easy shift for you!
@lukebouch What made you pick Bitwarden? I’m going to use Apple Passwords at least as a temporary step but I don’t thik I want everything stuck in Apple only apps.
@ChrisJWilson ha, I also have looked at Proton but when I tried the app something felt off. I’ll probably end up on Apple Passwords and save the cash.
@philbowell We have the full Proton account, which includes Proton Pass. It doesn’t integrate as well as Apple Passwords. We tried it, but eventually stuck with Apple.
@ChrisJWilson I was using 1Password but then I switched to GrapheneOS and I couldn’t get 1Password to work on it. I completely agree with not wanting everything locked into one vendor (like Apple).
