I’m really curious if the price of Apple TV+ and Disney+ will make Netflix lower its price. Probably not immediately, but in a year or two time…

@ChrisJWilson Consider also Prime and the fact that Amazon probably won't have to do so. Doesn't look good for Netflix.

@simonwoods That's a good point that I hadn't considered but prime video is included with the prime bundle (and the video only option is cheaper). I'm definitely not saying it will happen but if Apple had set the price at 9.99 I would definitely not expect it.

@ChrisJWilson Yeah exactly, that's why Amazon won't have to; I'd even say they don't have to, since they don't play the profit game. It's all about market share and the brand is resilient. Agree that Apple going for the smaller price (and the 1 year free!) puts a lot of pressure on Netflix.

@simonwoods @ChrisJWilson do you think Apple will eventually want to (or be able to) take the next step, and include shows & movies from their iTunes catalogue in Apple TV+?

@jamesdasher @simonwoods sorry, I missed your post (bad internet at the time). As far as I understand, Apple needs to strike deals with the film/tv providers and most companies seem to be trying to make their own service/teaming up. So I guess they won’t ever be able to offer the whole iTunes catalogue.
