This quote sums up so much writing advice I’ve read which basically says “Write a lot” and sometimes adds “Oh and read a lot too” before moving on to endless promotion tactics. I wish more writing advice contained actually advice on writing.

@frostedechoes I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised. It was the same when I got into blogging on WordPress. It shifted my attention over time which is a real shame. Have you read On Writing Well by Williams Zinner? Tagging @frjon as it is similar to the Lewis article.

@frostedechoes I really found it useful and enjoyed his approach to writing. Some people, however, absolutely hate his approach! If you thought the approach of C.S. Lewis in this article was good, you'll enjoy On Writing Well. I think I should reread it actually.

@issimonwoods I really love the commentary from the blogger below because I thought it was a good example of "show, don't tell" and his warning is a really good one!

@ChrisJWilson Thanks for sharing that link about C.S. Lewis. I’m guilty of all stated sins.

@ChrisJWilson "do my job for me" just nails it. When doing the work, you take on the responsibility of making decisions.
