How do you know if they're a good app reviewer? micro.chrisjwilson.me
@ChrisJWilson Good post. I tend to put more value in reviewers who stick with a single app. My personal dilemma right now is between Craft and Obsidian. I like that Obsidian is local and plain text files and the sync is encrypted but I like the shiny of Craft
@ChrisJWilson That’s a great question. Is the person jumping apps because its their job to review apps? Or is the person doing it because they love the shiny, new app that everyone is talking about. Are they easily distracted and that’s why they change?
@greghiggins I think there’s a group of reviewers who try out EVER app but it’s sometimes obvious that’s it’s not really their app. Then there’s others who you can tell are using it for their work and actually moved system for a while. It’s certainly easier to do the later if you like newness but I guess that doesn’t have to be the case. And i guess the finances have changed since the end of the Apple affiliate program which probably incentivised recommending every new app/update. I know I’d rather have a reviewers perspective if they actually use the app, whether they jump between apps or stick to one forever.
@jmreekes I suspect you could try obsidian and make a few notes and then import them into craft if you decide it’s not for you. Obsidian really is ugly compared with craft.
@ChrisJWilson That’s what I’m doing. I’m also taking the time to explore the customization options in Obsidian which has helped
@jmreekes I am not sure. I think I do but I know there was a bug during the mobile beta which broke that. In fact, I actually can’t find the setting at the moment :S
