The absolute genius of “Black Lives Matter” as a phrase is that its very existence provokes evidence of its need, as people react negatively to what should be a simple statement of fact.

@adders I’d really love to get inside the head of an “urgh well actually all lives matter” person to understand why they feel they have to say that. I wonder if some object to it like they object to the idea of white privilege where they don’t see the evidence that their lives matter equally and so why should black people be signalled out for extra attention? Or maybe it’s something else. I was really surprised to hear people object to the statement.
