This iPad Pro is great, such an excellent computer for the majority of the needs of the average person.

Unfortunately, I’m bumping against the limitations of the software at an increasing rate, especially as I’m gradually returning to above-average use of a computer.

@simonwoods Is there something specific you're finding limiting? The biggest problem I've had was when I needed to do web development which is not exactly a requirement anymore thankfully.

@simonwoods it is so deceptively close to Good Enough™ with a very large uncanny valley to cross to get there. I still think it’s the ideal couch/casual computer.

@Chirag There have been a few key issues, specifically with regard to it being my only computer. I'm gonna write these up for a longer post, now having thought about it since your reply. The browser and general poor treatment of the web is in there, which even as a hobbyist is increasingly frustrating; just doesn't feel right to have the potential of the web cut back purely because a single company says so. But there are also other parts of the experience where even my previous cheap Chromebook was better.

@jsonbecker Yes agreed. As a compliment to my main computer and a superior experience to my phone it is brilliant. Also it helps me bridge the gap between analogue and digital, especially since I have the 11-inch and it feels great as a notepad. I'm not even confident bringing over "computer" features would improve things; in fact, it would probably make it worse.

@simonwoods I understand. I do use it as my main/only computer. The one I run into a lot is not being able to look at my webpage source to figure things out, but outside of that it's been good (and helps that I don't have to look at code the way I used to). I look forward to your post.

Agree with your note to @jsonbecker too, just moving computer features over may not be an improvement. The experience is great when the app is imagined for the iPad such as Ferrite.

@Chirag Agreed on all points. 👍 Overall I am much happier to have it in my life than not, and in many ways it was better for me to get it before a new computer.
