@Mtt I am not certain, but I think it means there are 24 apps installed on your device that have associated messages apps

@eli I thought you might be on to something. But I have more than that installed, less than that showing in messages, and no combination of those numbers equals the badge number.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

@Mtt Doesn’t that mean you have 24 apps with updates available in the App Store?

@cheri If it was on the App Store icon on the home page, yes. But that’s not what it means in messages (everything is updated). It also doesn’t mean anything about how many apps have messages integration. I’d bet yours has a random number too (only shows when enlarged like in screen shot).

@Mtt Huh, didn’t notice that. I have a “5” badge, at least right now. Like yours, it doesn’t seem to correspond to anything. Annoying.

@Mtt you might have already found this but this Mac rumor Forum seems to have a solution you might try if you haven’t already

@klandwehr Well, that worked. So that badge is showing how many apps have message integrations that you’ve not enabled or used. Would anyone just assume that?

Thanks for pointing me to that!

@Mtt yeah seemed stupid to me when I read it too. It doesn't make sense to me
