@Pilchuck While traveling, I learned that in France being a "customer" is a very different thing than in the US. It's not "the customer is always right and should be catered to" but instead, "the shop owner has graciously allowed you into their space, so be a good guest." That's an attitude I wish we had in our culture.
@Cheri I’m with you. I’ve been in hospitality for 40 year. Americans feel we owe them if they walk in.

@hawaiiboy Haha, I bet you’ve experienced a lot in your time as a hospitality professional? No, the customer isn’t always right. Even if you are the nicest staff, I guess there is always some dissatisfied jerk.
