I just started book four of a detective/mystery series. The series seems to be spiraling downward into a soap opera with a mystery tacked on. Blech. I don’t care about romance, I don’t care about wedding plans, I don’t care about the sex. Just solve the murders.

@bradenslen If you haven’t read them already, Grafton’s Alphabet series may suit you.

@Cheri I'm writing Grafton down. Thanks for the tip! I just started a new series: Inspector West by John Creasey and the first book is quite good. Written and set in the 1940's Britain during the War. Creasey wrote under many pen names including the famous Gideon of Scotland Yard series writing as JJ Marric which was turned into an excellent TV series in the UK. So I'm recommending John Creasey.

@bradenslen Thanks! I’ve heard of Creasey. I’ll check him out.
