Ugh. We sold a laptop with a troubled history — described as accurately as we could. We believed it was working fine. 3 weeks after purchase the buyer is disputing, claiming the Touch Bar doesn’t work. Breaking my brain considering what is right and proper and how to resolve.

@Miraz Sold online or in-person? Three weeks is a long time and if you described the state of the laptop before selling, you’re in the clear.

@gpittman Thanks. And @pratik They say they only started using it 3 weeks after purchase then noticed a problem. It may end up at a Disputes hearing (a small claims court with no lawyers and a mature arbiter). I absolutely don’t want to defraud anyone and I feel sorry for the buyer but I don’t know that there’s a way to decide the truth. Did we sell without realising this fault? Did the fault develop after the sale? Who knows?

@Miraz You acted honestly and in good faith. Hopefully the arbitrator will see that. I hope you get a good resolution!

@Cheri Thanks Cheri. I hate this kind of thing nagging at my brain.
