Ugh! I’m evaluating Amazon ebook exclusivity again, and it always comes down to personal preferences vs money. I want my books in all bookstores. (So do a minority of my readers.) But money can be exchanged for goods and services.

And I DO enjoy goods and services. 😏

@Cheri Does this mean you’re obligated to be exclusively on Amazon forever if you sign a deal?

@odd Nope! Exclusivity runs in 90 day periods.

@Cheri Then I would have considered it too I think, even if it would give more money to a multi billionaire. Fringe customers don’t pay bills.

@Cheri if almost all your readers are on Amazon it's a reasonable compromise πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ and it's a similar arguments about focusing on your core customers / users I always makes at work πŸ™ƒ

@Cheri So maybe the compromise is slowly move older backlist titles to other platforms if/when sales of those books start faltering as Amazon exclusives?

However that all works, you have a right to make money from your talent, hard work and creativity. You have to do what works best for you.

@bradenslen Yeah. I tussle with the question every so often, and I always come back to the sensible conclusion. But why can’t the ebook economy bend to MY will? That would be super convenient. πŸ˜‚

Thanks for weighing in. πŸ’
