@EddieHinkle Fantastic. Would be facinating to hear voices behind those profiles at IndieWeb. Great idea, and an inspiring first guest in @aaronpk. Kudos! Canโt wait to listen.
@EddieHinkle Yay! Congrats on the launch! ๐๐๐พ ๐
@arush Thanks! I definitely am excited about having more IndieWeb podcasts. The component that I thought was important was to make sure we had a variety of "types" of IndieWeb podcasts. There's already a microcast @aaronpk, newscast @schmarty, long tech podcast @dshanske and @c so hopefully a guest podcast will help add to the variety and help create more opportunity for new voices in the IndieWeb community ๐
@Burk Super excited!! ๐๐ This is something I've actually been thinking about since July and it just took some time to plan, get the equipment and the tech workflows and decide to actually do it! And this first episode with @aaronpk was actually recorded almost two months ago as a test episode. It's just been sitting around waiting to be released once I had a great list of guests to go after him
@arush also on a side note, is it a coincidence you were the first person to respond to that post? Because you are the next person on my list of people to reach out to interview for the podcast. I couldn't find an email for you on your website so I decided to just send you a message on here. I'm trying to schedule these out pretty far so both me and the episode guest have plenty of time to plan. If you are interested, you can choose a time using WhenWorks: https://when.works/invitations/5b6e35e8a036da001461a3d7 I'm still pretty new to using the service so let me know if it provides any issues for you. ๐
@eli Glad to hear! I thought it was a podcast I would like to listen to, so I decided to make it! Glad it seems like others like the idea as well!
Great first episode @EddieHinkle of @MyURLis - was fascinating to hear Aaron talk about his journey till now and what he sees things change next. As he mentioned, it would be really great if more people understood the basics (via more focused tutorials) and everyoneโs website became their identity.
@EddieHinkle I think I managed to schedule an appointment for Friday next at 12PM Eastern. Let me know if that took because the site doesn't make it easy to distinguish between dates and times of availability. Looking forward to it.
@arush Yep, itโs all set! ๐ A few tech details. Do you have Skype? Iโve been using that to interview everyone. If you have an external mic, even if ifโs just EarPods, thatโs best for the recording.
@arush Also, hereโs the standard interview questions we talk over: General Section
Introduce yourself How did you discover the IndieWeb? What does being part of the IndieWeb mean to you? What (if any?) IndieWebCamp events have you attended, and were there any that stuck out to you in a special way? Is there anything new or any changes you hope to see in the IndieWeb community over the next year?
Tech Section
What service or software powers your website? What is something youโve added or built on your website recently that you are particularly happy with? Have you run into any challenges or problems recently that youโd like help with from the IndieWeb community? What is the next thing youโd like to do with your website?
@EddieHinkle yes, I have Skype, and I have your pods. Will go over the tech questions and the other interview questions this week. Thanks. My skype name is ajrush1
@arush Hey, Iโm so sorry! Just sent you an email as well. Having issues with the heating at our house. Iโll need to reschedule our interview. Iโm working with the technicians to get it fixed.
@EddieHinkle OK, I didn't get the email, but my email was down for a couple of days. Just send again when you're ready to reschedule, and I hope they got your heating fixed.
@arush Ahh that makes sense. I did get the returned to sender email when I checked my email that evening, so that makes sense. Thanks, we did get it working later that day ๐ Sounds good, Iโll resend it your way soon! Thanks!
