I’ve been a diehard Overcast user for years, but the new features on Castro are really tempting me.
@craigmcclellan I switched to Castro about a month ago and it’s great. I still have Overcast muscle memory so I’m giving it another month, but triaging podcasts is smart.
@bobschulties I started the trial and love it, but no iPad version and iCloud sync is gonna be a dealbreaker.
@craigmcclellan switched about 2 months ago. Triaging is truly game changing for an avid podcast listener. I'm a barcode fan too, but Castro is just better right now IMHO. AMA...
@craigmcclellan Yes, no iPad is rough. But the speakers on my 8 Plus are loud enough I don’t have trouble. Anyway, if you do give it a go, try for month or so to get used to the interface.
@craigmcclellan I’ll be honest, I was a diehard Overcast user but after feeling overwhelmed with podcasts stacking up I realized the queue system works the best for me.

Two biggest benefits I find:
- Only on iPhone. I missed sync at first, but it became a nice feature to know that podcasts are here. Period.
- Inbox triage. Finally was able to understand that it was 'ok' not to listen to every episode or everything.
(I also really like the interaction design throughout the app!)
@craigmcclellan I decided to give it a go at the start of the week. I really like the inbox, which if kind been mirroring in Overcast anyway.
@craigmcclellan Love Castro ... love triaging ... but iPhone only sucks ... I often hear of things to subscribe to in Mac and iPad ... so save it off to subscribe later... even a web solution might help
