I love having the ‘compact’ OED available for reference. Today I’m looking up the word “shoggle”. I was trying to see if it was derived from shuckling (from Yiddish) used to describe movements during prayer.

So...what did you find out?!
It's got a related meaning, but goes back to late-Medieval England...so if it's not *from the Yiddish, did it develop in parallel?

@petebrown and it’s a bit old now as the OED has gone online and no more complete editions in print. I’d like to try the online one but it’s quite steep.
