Did anyone else get the Ulysses app newsletter on May 31st? I hope it’s a prank because yuck! gross! In the meantime, I’ve pulled my App Store renewal for it. If you care, maybe let your friends know about this too. [Update: apparently it was a “joke,” but I’m still moving away from Ulysses] www.jonathansick.blog

@jonathansick Fairly sure it’s sarcasm, in fact one of the creators posted as such on Mastodon.

@jonathansick Just to add, many have thought the same as yourself and I don’t think they quite landed the gag. Didn’t mean to come across as condescending (if I did).

@BenSouthwood Not at all! I was really hoping someone would know more because it seemed so shocking, disappointing and weird honestly. It's jolted me into thinking about how I've been using Ulysses and I'm still not sure Ulysses is the best fit for me anymore. Most of my writing happens on GitHub and I'm remembering to try Mars Edit for when I do write elsewhere on the web... so maybe Ulysses was always more an aspirational power tool for me than anything. Cheers.

@jonathansick It sounds like many have responded like yourself, it is unclear and a misstep on their behalf I feel. They could and should issue some sort of clarification. I was a bit ‘WTF?’ initially. I’m not a fan of wacky newsletters at the best of times, but again that’s just me.
