One of my peers was sick with a high fever. I told him not to go to a work summit if he was sick. (There were others videoconferencing and he had one of his leaders attending anyway!)

He went, then he tested positive for COVID. Now one of my leaders that went is in the ER. 😷

@toddgrotenhuis I’m not immune to bad decisions, but I wouldn’t have done that.

@todd I thought we all learned lessons just a few years ago?

@toddgrotenhuis It’s still, potentially, a huge problem if one’s in any way vulnerable. The vulnerability might not even be obvious. Hope they recover.

@toddgrotenhuis Thanks for speaking up. I have multiple vulnerable family members, so it’s a little discouraging to hear stories like this as we’re still very tentative in our own public engagement.

@toddgrotenhuis That’s brutal and downright irresponsible. It shouldn’t have taken COVID to change people’s behaviour around staying home when ill; it should’ve been the common sense norm already. After the last three years, however, there’s absolutely no excuse.

Hopefully your colleague recovers quickly without issue.
