This morning, my watch alerted me that it was birthday of someone who had stopped following me on social media. I think he stopped following me because of my political views. I’m a little sad, but I understand. I still wish him well.
@mandaris I had to block one of my oldest friends on social media because he’d gone full on right-wing and was writing abhorrent racist and anti-Irish posts. I’m his daughter’s godfather, but he was just too far gone. I know you’re on the opposite side politically, but it’s hard.
@BenSouthwood I’m sorry to hear that. I hope that they figure out where he went wrong before too long.
@mandaris Appreciated. I can’t see it sadly given his age and his seeming reluctance to immerse himself in anything other than info that backs-up his worldview. I’m also fairly sure his anger is nothing to do with those he’s attacking, either.
@BenSouthwood I was hoping that wasn’t the case. It’s usually what I see time and time again. When they get cut off, they fill the void with the same stuff that made people cut them off in the first place.
