@bradenslen You can control all feeds connecting to the timeline in your account settings (https://micro.blog/account/feeds).
@bradenslen You can also choose to connect only certain categories to the timeline, by adding the category feed address!
@bradenslen Not that I know of, but maybe there should be?
Edit: Ah! @arnoldhoogerwerf, thank you!
@bradenslen Hope it helps, it took me some time to get a grasp of how the m.b. timeline works! One thing I myself am still wondering about is if followers can see all of each other's connected external feeds in their timeline. In theory, I can add whatever feed url (that's not mine) as a source and choose to add its posts to the Micro.blog timeline. Perhaps it is technically possible but regarded as bad practice? Time to finally check those community guidelines..!
@ArnoldHoogerwerf Yes, your followers will see all external feeds you plug in. There’s no option to have them skip the timeline. Now that you mention it, there should be. That’s why I choose which feeds I import.
@pratik 🤔 What could be a good reason to add an external source feed but not add them to the timeline? Since it then also won’t show up in my own timeline and I basically would never see its posts anywhere?
@pratik What If we could both choose public/private for each feed, and have an additional“Posts” tab (thinking especially of in the iOS version), in which you could see your posts and replies, and all added feeds, but not anything from other users that isn’t a reply to one of your posts.
@ArnoldHoogerwerf Well, I would basically have it only to post on my blog and not spam the timeline coz some updates (TV Shows Watched, Location Check-ins) may be more frequent than others (Movies Watched). I have unfollowed a person coz of such too-frequent life-logging posts. @odd
