Okay, I’m going to apologize about this in advance: I’m watching Duck Soup and finding it irresistible to post quotes…so…there, I said it. So I guess I can just go ahead…

@bkryer Duck Soup? Ok, my curiosity is piqued so time to look this up.

@pimoore a Marx Brothers joint from 1933. Freedonia tries to avoid war. A good percentage is unquotable sight gags, much like real life.

@bkryer The name Freedonia rings a bell, I know I’ve heard it before. Possibly in a Jeopardy question…

@pimoore It’s a Marx Bros reference. You may also want to read: “Hail! Hail!” by Harry Turtledove.

@bkryer I haven’t seen it in a long time. Rewatched Go West before the pandemic.

@odd is that the one with John Candy and Richard Lewis? I remember enjoying this a lot but so long ago. Def time for a rewatch. Candy was such a gem.

@bkryer I see no need to apologize, this is normal behavior. My brother will randomly shout, "His Excellency's car!" When specifying a departure time, I will often add, without explanation, "If that's too soon, you can leave in a minute and a huff."
