XCode doesn’t like your home folder on external drives.

I’ve decided instead to just move things that are taking the most space there.

Very frustrating. XCode takes up the most space on my Mac and there aren’t really any provisions for moving it to an external drive.

@JoeCotellese You can change the location of Derived Data and Archives from within XCode. That should free up a lot.

@Archimage Thanks for the tip. I did that already but was hoping I could move all of Xcode.

@JoeCotellese Did you try moving it and creating a symlink in the home location?

@Archimage Yeah, XC didn't like that.

@Archimage Well, now I feel like a dope. I moved Xcode and just launched it from there and it seems to work.

I'm pretty sure I tried that with an earlier version of XC and it didn't work. 🤷‍♂️
