When an inexperienced, overconfident, defensive, insecure man in leadership spins everyone in some wackadoodle direction, I think of all the time and energy that was wasted trying to limit the damage he’s doing, energy that could’ve been spent in a positive direction.

@iChris ohhh. I have some intense feels about this scenario and how it happens with leadership at very personal levels (say: family, church, community groups, etc.) and the way that plays out for everyone involved.

@Annie Yep - ditto. It's been a crazy 2022 where I've had it play it in a church community, and then also of course watching the havoc being wrecked by El0n, Putin, etc. on the world stage. And everything in between.

@iChris Oh do I have some church stories. 😬 (Not recent though.) 2022 has been particularly full of top-tier examples.

@Annie I'm saddened by what's happened in churches over the years - and obviously we could both be thinking of different or similar experiences for all we know - but I'm glad more stories are being brought into the light and out of the darkness.

@iChris yes, let the light shine where there is darkness.

Also realized I phrased my last comment poorly—I meant that over my life I’ve seen a lot of this in the church, and 2022 has been particularly full of examples all over the place (not just in the church).
