I find the complaining about the current results of this year’s MLB playoffs ridiculous. @frankm I agree, if the teams were great, they should be able to win a series. Also, I agree that playoffs are for the league and teams to make money - nothing new about that. Seeing the college football playoffs expanding is another money example, also the moving of college teams to different conferences - hunting for money! Let 'em play, ref!

@AndySylvester Upsets happen. I don't think any conclusions can be drawn after just one season, and I in general challenge the notion that any playoffs determines who is the best team in any sport. If that were the purpose all sports would have a simple one series between the teams with the top two records, regardless of leagues.

@frankm upsets happen - absolutely! No one disses the NCAA men's/women's basketball tournament when upsets happen there. I do think that many people think that the winner of the World Series/NBA Finals/Super Bowl represents the best team, but one could argue that the winners of those events are not necessarily the best teams overall.
