I might do a short write up over the weekend, but my initial takeaway is that the Standby thing on iOS 17 is my favourite new feature during a pretty sparse year.
@AndyNicolaides It looks handy. When I'm working, my iPhone lives in a charging stand immediately below my monitor, so I don't even have to rearrange my desk to take advantage of it. But I wonder whether it will it work on my ancient iPhone XS.
@MitchW the iPhone X was dropped but XS should still be able to get the update which is a sign. I think would probably take advantage of the always on display of the 13 Pro though, but should still do the job.
@AndyNicolaides Fingers crossed you're right. I was hoping to get at least another year out of my phone.
Unless, of course, Apple tempts me with something wonderful in the fall ... which I don't think will happen, given what else they've been up to this year.
