Really? Are we accepting this bullshit that a freaking chat app written is JavaScript is bigger than a full music production application?

@canion @zsbenke I cant stand Slack for numerous reasons, but I told myself never to look at its resource usage. Appears that was wise. š¬
I cant stand Office apps either, but I only have to suffer through them at work. Good news is our 365 can be used through Apple Mail using Exchange, so Outlook is going buh bye.
@pimoore Iām always checking their resource usage because these Electron apps are way out of hand now. I removed Slack because there is almost no difference between its ādesktop appā and the website.
@zsbenke To be fair not all Electron apps are so bloated; VS Code runs very well and Obsidian also seems decent. Coding quality definitely makes a difference. Case in point, MS Teams, which also turns your machine into a portable space heater.
@pimoore VS Code is fine-ish.
Still, I avoid using them because they feel out of place in macOS with almost no native system integration. Electron actually could be cool if they would use WebKit instead of Blink on macOS. We would have a way better experience with these apps.
