I *think* there are podcast apps that let you subscribe to YouTube channels and listen to their episodes as audio. It would be rad if they worked for viewing the video too.

@mdrockwell Don’t most video podcasts offer an audio feed? That's how I listen to iOS Today. It can be challenging to listen to a video show, but Mikah and @rosemaryorchard do a great job of keeping their content relevant to listeners and viewers.
@gpittman I imagine just about every video podcast has an audio feed. I'm just trying to think of alternative ways that YouTube channels can be consumed — outside of the YouTube app. Podcast apps seems like it could be an option. But I think video is important, so a podcast app that treats YouTube channels like video podcasts seems like a good idea.
@mdrockwell You can use the Sideloading feature in Castro to get the audio version of YouTube videos.
@mdrockwell You can get feeds of YouTube channels using this simple conversion: https://www.youtube.com/channel/ID → https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=ID
. Alas, they don't add the video as an enclosure, so it won't have the video. You might try an RSS Bridge instance for pulling video though: https://github.com/RSS-Bridge/rss-bridge/wiki/Public-hosts
For stripping audio out of YouTube videos to consume as a podcast, I've found that using Huffduffer.com and their browser bookmaklet to be a great method. ❦

@chrisaldrich cool cool. I have an RSS-Bridge instance setup, but at first glance it looks like there's no way to have the file setup as an enclosure, unfortunately. I'll have to do some more digging.
