@fulelo been saying that schmuck should have stepped down for years. But the problem is the other parties just haven’t created a leader that is as charismatic as Netanyahu and able to unite the parties behind him. He may be a putz but he is a very charismatic putz
@fulelo Is "Hamas-run health ministry" correct? My understanding is that the Palestinian Authority funds them. I'm seeing lots of people reacting to that phrase with "oh, then we can't believe those numbers".
@fulelo do they break it down to civilians killed by Israel, civilians killed by Hamas and Hamas employees?
@LALegault @fulelo I presume so, but that’s not how I read it. I know, I’m just being a smart-ass.
@LALegault @fulelo I’m sorry. I know TBI is absolutely no joke. I’ve seen it happen. That was very bad form on my part.
@fulelo
How about one more objective - getting a canal built? I'm scratching my head to figure out why the western powers are going along with the genocide. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Gurion_Canal_Project
@Lassielmr @fulelo
Why a global war? Isn't only Egypt hurt (or is it because they would shut down the Suez canal in protest)?

@GRA3432 @LALegault in Iraq and Syria? Worth checking back the last nearly 20 ys re Iraq and 10+ re Syria
@fulelo I do agree with this statement.But you need to take that message to Hamas!
@LALegault @fulelo you would actually be surprised how much American news we see!
@fulelo And you believe Hamas-run health min? I shore they will tell the truth.
@fulelo I am skeptical about this number, as I think it is on the low end. #Israel 🇮🇱 is fighting #Hamas terrorists in the city, and urban warfare is horrific as most buildings are not designed to withstand bombs & bullets.
Hamas has also foolishly ordered #Gaza civilians to stay (& sadly, many have remained), & I believe we will not know the actual death toll until after Israel 🇮🇱 has destroyed Hamas as a military threat in Gaza.
@darnell
@fulelo@journa.host A wider war and more martyrs are Hamas’ victory conditions. Otherwise they would have swapped out the hostages by now. My 2¢.
@fulelo
Context needed (No criticism of Kriszta intended)
- "For several hours, hundreds of people were on the move" Estimates are 140,000-400,000 people remain in Northern Gaza. 100 per minute for 3 hours would be 18,000, so most are still there.
- Hamas claims 1 in 200 of Gaza's population have died - a horrific amount. Hamas don't identify separate combatant & civilian deaths.
- most deaths ever in a UN operation - UNRWA is probably the biggest ever UN operation, running schools, hospitals & lots else in Gaza Strip. Hard to find statistics but at least 9,500 Gaza Strip staff, mostly local Palestinians. Currently UNRWA deaths may be proportional to their proportion of Gaza Strip's population.
- Journalist deaths - how many people in Gaza are considered journalists? There are many free lance photojournalists. Hamas runs propaganda TV & radio stations. At least one dead journalist documented Hamas murders in a kibbutz for Hamas propaganda. How many of the dead journalists were Hamas workers?
@fulelo good- the world is wakin up- israel is no longer a recognized state- their lease expired on oct 31- they r bankrupt- game over once they catch bebi who is hiding- runnin around in tunnels- israeli special forces will find him- hes toast!😉🥳🫶✌️
@fulelo “Thailand supplies almost all the foreign agricultural labour in Israel”
Pretty evocative that they will keep the Palestinians behind lock and key in economic and social misery, and prefer to bring in people from the other side of the world to work their fields.
@fulelo Permanent complete multilateral unconditional peace.
@fulelo are they able to take the worst patients out with them? This is so frustrating.
@LeaBug there is some ambulance traffic through Rafah, not sure from how many hospitals
@fulelo Seems like we need regime change on both sides of the Israeli/Gaza border. Leaders who don’t acknowledge the facts and truth are the most dangerous.
They’re most important duty is to ensure peace and protect their people, not pursue power-driven delusions. No one wins wars, but plenty of civilians are always impacted, ranging from hardships to death.
@fulelo There's no way to effectively and safely deliver aid without a cease fire.
@fulelo The "collective punishment by Israel of Palestinian civilians" is unclear. What Israel has done is blockade, which is nothing like the collective punishments the Geneva convention signatories were responding to.
The flow of food, water & medical supplies through the Egyptian + Hamas controlled Rafah crossing needs to be greatly increased.
Bombing of locations used by Hamas is military targeting, not collective punishment.
Worth considering the Iraqi Battle of Mosul against ISIS. That city was not free of civilians. I don't think there was aid for civilians inside the city during the battle.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Mosul_(2016%E2%80%932017)
@DavidPenington many have explained the 'spiderweb' element of urban combat on the example of Mosul
@fulelo Very biblical - Luke 17:37 They said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.” (RSV)
I had such trouble making sense of that in Greek when I was a new student translating it.
Hardly surprising we may not easily find ;/ recover bodies buried under rubble.
@fulelo It's not actually up to Congress. The Israelis would not stop because the Americans told them to. They will count on winning this thing, waiting for it to blow over, and then lobbying for aid again. It has always worked before.
@fulelo
"PM Netanyahu has said his country is not seeking to conquer, occupy or govern Gaza after the war with Hamas ends"
...is not seeking to...
Now where have I seen weasel words like this before?
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-gives-away-game-inflated-191018130.html
@fulelo of course they are not going to occupy as it'll just be rocky desert with nobody there
@fulelo of course!
The Israeli bombardment is creating a new generation of freedom fighters. For every fighter they kill, they have created ten more.

@fulelo these terrified children will be the new generation of freedom fighters. Israel thinks they can eliminate the current Hamas fighters; perhaps they can, but 10 more are created for every one that is killed.
“They tried to bury us, but they didn’t know that we were seeds.” —Mexican Proverb
@fulelo
The terrorist Israeli IDF has determined that all it has to do is point its finger like Donald Sutherland at the end of the movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers and scream *HAMAS* and they can slaughter whoever they want..... including their own people.
@fulelo His logic is nonsensical. He "clearly condems" the terrorist attacks but sees "no justification" for the resulting consequences of military action? The lives of everybody in the region will be so much better when Israel has finished Hamas. Nobody will benefit more than Gazans who may finally escape from the terrible decision they made when electing Hamas.
@fulelo I'm sorry but this guy will say anything to promote himself. If he cared about mothers, grandparents and babies, he'd also demand that Hamas release the hostages. I suppose I should thank Macron for letting the world know that he doesn't believe Jewish lives matter.

@fulelo What I have seen in video are smoke shells from mortars (screening to prevent people near the hospital shooting at Israeli troops) and an empty illumination shell casing hitting a car near al Shifa.
It's reasonable for people in the area to think of those as being shelled, but incorrect - both are dangerous but not designed or intended to kill, injure or destroy.
@fulelo conquering, occupying, and governing are the inevitable consequences of a full-scale invasion that demolishes all of Gaza's institutions and infrastructure.
