AI is a tool. When the axe was invented, somebody probably said, “wow, I’m going to use this to cut so much wood!”, and somebody else said “I’m going to use this to kill so many people!”
The best tools are hard to judge ethically.
@danielpunkass now imagine the axe handle to be made of human bones - that is what most of these popular generative AI models are - made off of the backs of people, without consent or via exploitation. LOL.

@danielpunkass although some tools are probably heavily biased towards one use. Guns and atom bombs come to mind.
