@chiawase Mimi app allows uploading photos and then adding alt text. Then you can copy a chosen image tag format for posts elsewhere (such as Markdown or HTML). Pretty handy. It also lets you choose the quality of JPEG compression and image dimensions.
@kurite ooh cool! I'll check that out as well ๐ is it web based only, or does it have a iOS app too?
@chiawase chiming in as well. While itโs not as fancy as Mimi uploader, I put together a shortcut that will upload an image and allow for alt text. It then returns a formatted link that you can add to a post.
@pratik also made a great shortcut that allows you to upload multiple images and include alt text.
@chiawase The version of the official micro.blog client(in TestFlight) does allow this when you tap the image. Doesnโt work from a share sheet post, only when adding images to a post from the app.
@mcg could you expound what you mean by the share sheet post?
I think I get what you mean with your latter statement though, I'm assuming that's referring to just the normal way of making a post (unless I'm mistaken ๐ )
@donnydavis oooh, thanks for these! I'm gonna try these out the next couple of days (assuming I post, but it seems so far I've been posting every day because of the novelty of this space ๐)
@chiawase Starting a post and adding an image in the app works for alt text. Going to Photos and sharing an image to the micro.blog app, does not.
@mcg oooh okay I think I get it! I do the former more than the latter (I don't think I've done the sharing of a photo yet from the Photos app then share to Micro.blog) ๐
Hoping the update gets pushed to the production app soon then, since it seems like that's something that's only available via TestFlight hehe thank you for sharing! ๐
