Thanks to @joshsullivan for reminding me about CloudMounter on Setapp I had given up on OneDrive for sync because of its poor performance on Mac, but this might be a good solution!
@canion I gave up long ago on OneDrive on Mac, it is trash and I've lost documents due to it syncing over a folder on the local machine while it should have been syncing up to OneDrive. Which was unfortunate because I get a terabyte of space for free. So far with CloudMounter I was able to easily upload a 2 GB file.
