@joec How did you even manage to find this one tree that still has leaves on it, in the midst of all the bare ones?! Stunning.

@smokey Thanks. That’s a rather large Hemlock, in a nearby park on Manhattan. It’s a conifer. Or evergreen, as they say. Surrounded by deciduous trees. The cool part is that its pine cones are about the size of the top knuckle of your pinky. Tiny cones for such a huge tree.

@joec Ah. I’d zoomed in and the things looked like deciduous leaves, but now that I know, I can also see them as clusters of needles (or whatever the generic term is for a conifer’s “leaves”). Fascinating about the cone size. Thanks!
