I came across this interesting article today: How the Blog Broke the Web. That’s not to say that I agree blogs broke the web (obviously), but it evokes nostalgia for an era of internet history just before my time, and I do think personal homepages are super underrated today.
@mpmilestogo Thank you for the recommendation! I did find this article about Technorati which helped put it into context for me. It's funny, I was blogging in the mid-2000s (and vaguely recognised the name) but clearly the Technorati milieu didn't have much overlap with the "teenage girl" milieu I was more a part of 😄
