After two and a half weeks running my own blog at this subdomain, I feel energised to start making a static site to go alongside it at the root domain ☺️ At first I was looking into Hugo, but the learning curve seems a little high and I feel like it might be overkill for what I want. So... micro.jayeless.net

@jayeless interesting. What are you planning to post about on the static site?

I have a similar setup. There's a static site on my root domain, while my other sites are subdomains. My root domain has my dev blog, which I kinda regret. I should have had a personal blog on my root domain, and a dev blog on a subdomain.

@Dino For my static site, I'm thinking of putting up content that's either fairly timeless (like recipes), or posted out of time from the date that really applies (like my archive of book reviews, or collections of photos). When I get started I might think of more things, too ☺️

@Dino And I guess you could move the dev blog to make room for a personal site, but it'd probably take a lot of effort to set up all the redirections and such, so I can understand why you might not be keen to.

@jayeless putting up timeless content sounds like a great idea. Almost like digital garden notes or posts without publish dates.

Yeah I'm not even sure how to begin with the redirects, if I was to attempt to move my dev blog to a subdomain. I'll stick with my setup for now. I wish you the best of luck with yours.

@mpmilestogo yes sir. I am using it as a note-taking app and for building a digital garden/personal knowledge base. I am still in the very early stages of learning how to use it and figuring out a workflow for taking down notes.
