Micro.blog isn’t in danger of losing my business but I am enjoying Drummer. It feels like I’m writing, not blogging, with no pressure about creating “a blog post”. I also love that its in the form of an outline which is the purest form of thinking and writing in one.
@canion Agree. I still love Micro.blog for the ease of posting on mobile especially for photos. For random thoughts, Drummer is best.
@canion I have just started to look at it a little bit as well. I am not sure how it will fit in the grand scheme of my messy online existence but it is interesting enough for me to give it a look.
@canion Similar feelings here. I am posting to micro.blog from Drummer :). (semi-related: Does CMD-k work for you to create links? That's what I use. It's not perfect, but better than always clicking that button.)
@jack @canion I am still very new to this but I will agree it does work but it seems to me it doesn't always work. Just curious have either of you figured out how to make the Build my Blog icon?
@ericmwalk I think I just followed Dave's instructions on that page and the icon shows up and works fine here.
@jack I think it was a user error on my part as I did get it working now 😃. How did you get your posts (assuming they are working that way) in chronological order for the day
@ericmwalk Glad it's working for you. I've decided not to go chronological. Currently the posts are mostly reverse-chronological, but I have been sorting them manually when it seems to make sense. It's nice not having to be forced into one or the other.
@timapple It's a new blogging engine from Dave Winer which operates as an outliner. For people who think and write in outlines, like me, this is catnip.
@jack I hadn't tried Cmd-K. It's a sensible default link which I use in other apps though, so I will try to remember it in Drummer. Thanks!
@ericmwalk Do you have the link for those instructions? I can never find anything in the labyrinth of Drummer docs.
@canion the instructions for the cloud button. Honestly, I have found this page specifically really helpful as I try to pick off a couple of these things. I think next I might try the ParkPage one which I think would get you to your own domain name. However, I have to choose a name first.. ha!
