I finally realised this week that not every domain I own requires its own project! I’ve put a couple of them to good use with carrd, as one page profile sites. These point to all my other accounts and sites. For example, richardmackinnon.me. I’m going to let most other domains expire this year. I was met... macpsy.ch

@TheMacPsych I did this just before Christmas, last year. It's great to unburden old and not being used domains. I also cancelled a couple of subscriptions while I was at it.

@alexink 'Unburden' is a great way of putting it. I do it with clothes every six months and it's great. Need to build in some digital clear outs at the same time.

@TheMacPsych I’d be curious to read your “every 6 months clothes purge” checklist!

@bjhess I don't actually have one! Half of my clothing is always stored in vacuum bags on top of the wardrobe. Small London apartment requires this!

So before I unpack it (e.g. winter clothes), I place all my clothes from the wardrobe (e.g. summer clothes) on the bed and walk through them piece by piece. They go to recycling if they no longer fit, if they're worn beyond repair or if I've not worn them once.

And when I unpack the vacuum packed stuff, I repeat before hanging anything up or putting stuff in drawers.

@TheMacPsych We get locked into this idea we need to do something with the catchy domains we find ourselves buy and, in the end, are just paying rent on an empty apartment when all is said and done. Right?
