If wondering, mil ones have several proxy/firewalls setup that basically strip so much of that stuff out.
Funny deal, the one rare time I went to CNN's website cause the mil computer to throw out a huge warning and block the whole website for a time because it pick up something with malware. Mostly likely one of the ads.
Hence, ever since, yeah....ads are nuke on my setup at home.

@yogthos it occurred to me that all of these obnoxious things have slowed access to websites so much that fast loading speeds are irrelevant these days.
@NerdRage42 indeed, it's depressing to think just how much is just pure garbage. On a related note, imagine how much energy is waste on this.
@yogthos I've been less and less on the internet because I'm so annoyed by all the hassle. Ads being the worst of it. Which is why I prefer Mastodon for my social media fix.
